I travelled to Fiji twice with my family. We flew with Fiji Airways. The service was good and staff were friendly. Be warned though not all aircraft have seat-back entertainment.
On our first holiday we split our holiday with time at Denarau as well as time on Plantation Island.
Plantation Island offers fantastic activities especially for families. You can snorkel, swim, paddleboard, use the waterslide, crab hunting, face painting, golf and surfing day tours. If you want to you can also go to Lomani Resort or Musket Cove Resort to try their restaurants.
On a separate trip we travelled to the Naviti Resort on the Coral Coast. This is an excellent, value for money resort for families in particular. It offers an all inclusive product including all meals and drinks (both alcoholic & non-alcoholic). It takes a little longer to get there than other resorts. Some activities on offer are swimming, snorkelling, canoeing, sunset cruise with nibbles and wine, golf, tennis, village tours, day spa, hair braiding and sporting activities arranged by Bill in the activities hut. There are 5 restaurants.
We had overnight stays at the Sofitel Denarau. This is a beautiful sprawling and very upmarket resort. All the activities are offered that are at the Naviti & Plantation Island. They have a great kids club and some incredible restaurants. We were hard pressed pulling our kids away from the waterslide.
Fiji is such a relaxing holiday that a holiday highlight can be simply relaxing by the pool with a cocktail. We also really enjoyed the Village Tour, and snorkelling in the crystal blue waters off the Islands is fabulous. Be sure to try the delicious curries made by the Indian-Fijians.
