We flew with Virgin Airlines to Denpasar in Bali. One drink is included with your meal and additional drinks were for purchase. Be sure to download the Virgin Australia app and take your own device to watch any inflight entertainment. Someone next to me had an old app on her older ipad and it didn’t work so it must be the latest version.
We were met by a Club Med representative and transferred straight to the resort for a speedy check in. They will hold a few hundred dollars on your credit card as a guarantee.
Club Med Bali is located in Nusa Dua, a beautiful part of Bali.
The lead in room category is in the top level of the building with a window. I would highly recommended to upgrade to the superior balcony room which is what most rooms are. They also have larger decks on the ground floor in the deluxe terrace rooms, and there are interconnecting options available.
The grounds are absolutely beautiful, and the beach is so much cleaner on this side of Bali.
There is plenty to do with activities happening all day- you can choose to participate or to do nothing at all. Circus school/trapeze, archery, yoga, aqua aerobics, snorkeling boat tour, golf, yoga. There are tennis courts, which couldn’t be used when we were there as there was a junior Asia/Pacific tennis tournament on. It was amazing to watch these kids play, apparently the winner of this could be a future world champion!
Club Med caters so well for families with their kid’s clubs and activities.
For couples it is also a great place with an adults only Zen pool and plenty of nice beach chair pods placed separately through the grounds and on the beach.
Dining is in a main restaurant with buffet, although I am not a huge fan of buffets it is one of the biggest you will ever see and was quite good. There is also an al a carte restaurant which is much nicer, but you do need to pre-book. There were kids everywhere in the buffet, but the restaurant is broken into lots of rooms and one was the “quiet” room with adults only.
Each night, after dinner there is a show put on by the staff and one night a week, they have a Balinese cultural dance show. A couple of nights a week they have a nightclub which goes to early hours of the morning. The staff are really interactive dancing and mingling.
The main bar is stunning next to the pool and looking across to the beach and there was a traditional beach bar which we enjoyed the most of an afternoon.
All meals and drinks are included at Club Med and most activities.
Shore excursions could be booked at the resort.
We took taxis one day to Legian and Seminyak and these were only about $15 each way.
The spa on sight is beautiful but expensive at Resort prices, we were able to find one up the road about 5-10 minutes’ walk at “Bali prices”. I managed to sample this every day.
I can totally recommend Club Med; it is great value especially for families.
